COMP.SH Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 • Last Updated: September 2025

Introduction

Welcome to COMP.SH ("COMP," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how COMP collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you access the COMP website at https://comp.sh/ (the "Site") and engage with COMP's services, tools, and features (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully—by accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our Service. Periodic updates may occur, so please check this page regularly.

Information We Collect

COMP collects both "Personal Data" (information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, or blockchain address) and "Anonymous Data" (data that, by itself, cannot be linked to an identifiable person, such as aggregated platform analytics).

1. Information You Provide

Account Information: To use some features, you may need to provide an email address, name, username, and relevant identification. If you become a project developer, KYC information will be collected to satisfy compliance requirements.

User Preferences: Our Service may store preferences such as display settings or notification choices, associated with your account or blockchain address.

User Communications: Information you submit through feedback, support, or contact forms is collected, including your name and contact details.

Other Information: Additional information may be gathered if you participate in surveys, sweepstakes, newsletters, or other voluntary features.

Participation on the COMP platform is voluntary, but refusal to provide some data may result in limited access to certain features.

2. Information Collected Automatically

Server & Log Data: We automatically collect technical details like your browser type, operating system, IP address, blockchain address, wallet type, and timestamps to enhance security and user experience.

Cookies: Like most websites, we use cookies for session management and analytics. You can control cookies via your browser settings; disabling them may limit Service functionality.

Pixel Tags: "Web beacons" or pixel tags may be used to measure engagement and effectiveness of site features and communications.

Analytics Services: Third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics) may collect information about your Site interactions. Their collection, use, and sharing are governed by their own privacy policies.

Third-party Wallet Information: When connecting a wallet, we may access your blockchain address and related data available through your wallet provider, governed by their terms.

3. Information from Public Blockchains

We collect publicly visible blockchain data relevant to your activities on COMP.SH—such as wallet addresses, transaction histories, and voting records in DAOs. Some of this information can become associated with other data you provide.

How We Use Your Information

COMP uses collected information to:

  • Provide you with access to the Site and Service, including project launch and participation,
  • Ensure safety, integrity, and compliance of the platform (including vetting and KYC of developers),
  • Facilitate governance and DAO functions, including verifying eligibility for voting and equity entitlements,
  • Personalize your user experience,
  • Enable customer support,
  • Respond to lawful requests and regulatory obligations,
  • Improve Service features and security,
  • Communicate Service updates, security advisories, and support issues,
  • Promote new features or COMP offerings (subject to your preferences),
  • Generate Anonymous Data for analytical and operational purposes.

Duration of Data Retention

We retain your Personal Data only as long as is necessary to fulfill your requests, operate COMP.SH, and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. Blockchain data may be immutable and thus cannot be deleted by COMP.

How We Protect Your Information

Technical Measures: Your information is protected using SSL encryption and industry-standard security practices.

Administrative Controls: Access to your personal data is restricted to authorized personnel with a clear need.

User Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your blockchain wallet, account passwords, and private keys.

No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we strive to safeguard your data using reasonable measures.

  • In connection with business transfers (mergers, acquisitions, etc.),
  • With your consent or as otherwise disclosed at the time of data collection.

We do not sell your personal data to unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes.

Data and Blockchain Limitations

Actions and information stored on the Solana blockchain via COMP.SH cannot be controlled, edited, or deleted by COMP once committed. These records (e.g., wallet addresses, transactions, DAO proposals and votes, locked token positions) are immutable by design.

International Users and Cross-Border Transfers

COMP Labs operates internationally. By using COMP.SH, you consent to processing, storage, and transfer of your data outside of your country of residence, subject to local laws and regulations. Data may be accessible to authorized COMP staff globally.

Children's Privacy

COMP.SH is not intended for users under 13 (or 16 where applicable by law). COMP does not knowingly collect data from children under these ages. If you believe COMP has collected information from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, rectify, or delete your Personal Data,
  • Restrict or object to certain kinds of processing,
  • Receive a copy of your Personal Data in machine-readable format,

Note: COMP cannot alter or delete data stored on public blockchains.

Third-party Links and Wallets

COMP.SH may link to third-party sites or interfaces (such as wallet providers). Interactions with these parties are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
